Holy shit, Wolan. I'm really digging this Oranssi Pazuzu band. What does that translate into?

Oranssi = Orange (the color)
Pazuzu = The King of the Demons of the Wind in Assyrian and Babylonian mythology

Pazuzu (not orange though) was also in Futurama...

Here's another win from the band:

Oh, metal gods! How could I forget Sólstafir!

Their album "Köld" was the best album of 2009 for me. They're from Iceland.
Very atmospheric and beautiful stuff. Raw.

Here's a good example:

Yeah Köld is a good song.

Got some true icelandic viking metal here tho.

Anyone up on Crotchduster? Sadly, they only put out one album and it's really just a big joke about metal music. They incorporate all metal genres into one album, throw in an assload of raunchiness and irreverance, and create some kind of strange narrative about Williamsburgland, Molly Brown, and Mammal Sauce. This song doesn't do them proper justice, as the album really needs to be heard in its entirety, but it should suffice. Don't worry about the skits; the music will indeed kick in and hopefully blow your mind. And in case you're wondering, the members of Crotchduster are actually legit musicians for a band called Capharnaum, though I think they've all gone their separate ways by now. At any rate, this albums is testament to the greatness of Willowtip Records.

Looks like we've got a couple of stalwart granddads in the house. There's nothing wrong with holding on to classics and looking forward to the new stuff.

Between Reign in Blood and Master of Puppets, I'd take the latter, mostly because I prefer the vocal style of Hetfield over Araya. In the long run Slayer is much better for consistently amazing riffing and more or less straightforward thrash, however.

i will jam out to anything megadeth up to the rest in peace album. i actually got to see megadeth perform rest in peace about 6 months ago, along with slayer and they did all of seasons in the abyss. anthrax opened up for them. it was like my teen years were brought right back. man, i love late 80's to mid 90's thrash, it doesn't get any better when it comes to metal, in my opinion.
