I can relate, man. I can't even begin to name the ways I've been offended by religious b.s. at funerals of loved ones. I truly hope my memorial service is not used as a promo tool for Jesus. I think my friends and family know better than to let something like that happen. If you don't know how to grieve without being comforted by some fake stories then...I dunno what to say except...fuck it.

Last year at my mom's funeral I wanted to slam my face against a wall. It was a catholic funeral, so you get the picture. I read a eulogy I wrote and later at the grave site the preacher referenced things I said as things Jesus promoted or would have liked for us to think of...ect. I quit listening and just watched the clouds claw over the horizon. It was a weird moment in time, I don't remember anything that was said during that day other than the words I spoke and those clouds.

I really like this, and I think the listen is much better with the mix than just a dry listen. Thanks.

Ditto.

I'd hope my little brother would pull a Richard Tillman.

That's amazing.

I've been going through so many Hitchens articles for the past couple weeks. I think he woke up every morning and asked himself, "What shall I eviscerate today?" And the result was always stimulating, and intellectually empowering. I just listened to all 37 minutes of Sage's Hitchmix and it's the same way. Yesss.

Hitchens is my hero because he always intelligently looked at the conflict presented to him and didn't let ideology clog critical thinking. we would be better off with more people like him.
