Podcasts?  Reply with quote

I really wanted to get in on that Jay-Z thread so I'll start a new one that has nothing to do with him.

What's some good podcasts? I just started finding the charm in some since I've been finding myself needing distractions for hours on end.

Nerdist is cool if he has a good guest. STar Talk is of course great. Some WTF and Rogan I have even found enjoyable. What are you guys into?

Oh and Burr's MMPC is a riot if you're in the mood.

This American Life (obviously)
Planet Money
On the Media
How Did This Get Made

I highly recommend all of those, as well as Radiolab, which ecapataz already mentioned.

Free Beer and Hot Wings Show

The name sounds stupid but that's the point. It's awesome...

I've been doing call-in interviews on the Das Process podcast. First time I ever really listened to a podcast. Considering putting together one of my own at some point. When the days and nights magically become longer.

Have you done more that were released recently? I just got around to listening to the first one a week or two ago, and once I was able to find the point where the actual interview started, I really enjoyed it.

p.s. I think it would be amazing if you started a podcast and I, for one, would listen to it religiously.

We did another one recently. I thought it had gone live. Pretty sure it did.

A "Dear Xaul" segment could go horribly wrong. But I've been thinking of a doing a "Sage Advice" kind of thing where people send me in their questions and I give my take on how shitty everything is. haha

I think it would pretty much be guaranteed to go horribly wrong.

It'll be beautiful.

I've got a whole mega-list of em on regular rotation and I'll try and post em up, but you can't go wrong with a lot of the shows on Earwolf (http://www.earwolf.com/), Nerdist (http://www.nerdist.com/) and Maximum Fun (http://www.maximumfun.org/) - but there are hundreds more. The Long Shot is excellent (http://www.thelongshotpodcast.com/)- that's got Eddie Pepitone / Sean Conroy / Amber Kenny & Jamie Flam as regular hosts but always has guests on, been listening to that for a good couple of years now. Good stuff to be heard if you do some digging...

If you like Rogan I would recommend some Duncan Trussel Family Hour & sometimes the Ice House Chronicles is good.

I second Tell Em Steve Dave, Smodcast & Fatman on Batman

I would love to hear a Strange Famous Podcast hosted by Sage & B. Dolan. I would listen every week.

That would make an amazing video thing- like 3+ minute mini-episodes or something... That would be so great.

Beyondpod is a pretty legit app to use for podcasts on android phones. You get a week to trial the heavy version and then after that it goes to a lite version unless you upgrade. Still legit.
