add a timbaland esq high hat in there and i think that beat might be near perfecrt(atleast to me)

Wow. Thanks! Great timing for a little boost.. Nice to know I can do something right because I am having one of the worst days ever at work right now and it's only 11am.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I meant to comment on this yesterday, but I also think it's an excellent beat. I personally would prefer a more prominent bassline, but that's me. Other than that, a fine piece of work.

I like the live beat, but the dude that went first sounded like he heard his first rap two weeks ago and thought "What's so hard about this rhyme business? I can so this for serious... uhhh!"

Apologies if that's you or one or your boys.

Well shit, that makes me seem like a real ass-hat. Didn't mean to rip you, dude, cuz you're doing what you're doing, but it's how I feel. Good luck to you anyway, and thanks for taking the criticism with dignity.

I've been messing with acoustic arrangements of some of my songs preparing for an east coast run I'm doing later this year. I fuck up like 50 times in this, but my daughter redeems it by being super adorable and awesome. I didn't originally intend to release this, actually, but... yep.

You can stream the original version at http://mikalkhill.bandcamp.com (it's on dust) and you can buy the album at http://strangefamousrecords.com

I want more, in the sense that I want something more to that track. It paces along nicely, kind of robotically chill, but it's a little too repetitive for my tastes.

In other news, I stumbled upon a dude named Jacques Jupiter who makes nicely futuristic hip-hop tunes you (or anyone) might enjoy. Inspiration, perhaps.

found an awesome deal on a NI Maschine MK1 on Craigslist.

Native Instrument's way of registering hardware and software has me scared though. Anyone here bought a used Maschine and it all went smooth? Seller says it's all unregistered but I can't find anywhere to download the software. Install cd has been lost.

Advice?

I had a quasi-bad situation. I bought a Maschine Mikro setup for a decent price off craigslist. The original dude registered it and sold it to me without de-registering it. The hardware and software work together and will only work with one person on the registration. There is no way around it...no cracks, hacks, exceptions....they truly do not give a f***. I contacted the guy and basically figured out he was using a different MIDI controller but still using the software. He refused to de-register it and ignored my calls/emails. Eventually, I told him I was going to show up to one of his shows and we will fix it there on the spot. He instantly answered my message and de-registered it, because he was scared I was going to beat his ass. I forget how you do it, but before you buy anything, verify there is no one registered, or else you will be left with a very expensive, useless piece of plastic with a lot of buttons.
