Forum Registration + How to Embed Videos  Reply with quote

Go to:

Paste the URL of the video and generate their code. Copy that code and paste it here. Boom...done. Unless you're OCD like me, in which case you'll want to edit out the leftover coding that shows in your post.

1) You can join the forum by registering a username (you will see the "register" option in the top section of this page.) Disregard the "Debug Error" page that will inevitably pop up. It happens immediately and it's always been that way. It doesn't matter what email address you use. But if you try changing your email address in the future it will deactivate your account so keep that in mind.

2) After you register your username, send a message to one of the following sites:

In that message you must state the EXACT username you registered. Spell it properly. If you don't tell us the exact username then it will not show up in our system's search. We will respond to you when your name has been activated.

The reason we require people to contact us through another social networking site is to verify who you are. We don't want trolls and this is the best method of cutting down on the nonsense. THIS MEANS THAT THE ACCOUNT YOU MESSAGE US FROM MUST SHOW SIGNS OF ACTIVITY. It can't be an account you created just for the sake of registering a forum name. Sorry if that's a problem.

1) Any discussion of torrents or download music sites will get you banned. Plain and simple. Illegal downloading is not something we can stop but it's not something we need to tolerate on our own forum. Hope you understand.

2) Do NOT link people to webstore that is not our own. We do run a business here. If you think someone's album should be promoted or held in our online store then email us direct about it. We will work out it out.

3) If your post gets deleted and you post it again you'll be banned. No questions asked.

4) Requests for usernames to be changed will be ignored, so pick a name you know you'lll be happy with forever.

5) Do not change the email address you have linked to your username. This will deactivate your account. PEOPLE DO THIS ALL THE TIME AND THEY LOSE ACCESS TO THE FORUM BECAUSE OF IT. Do NOT change your email address.

If you have a question, complaint or suggestion feel free to contact us directly at

Best wishes,
SFR Staff

Thanks to the loyalty and support of our customers over the past 11 years, Strange Famous Records is proud to be one of the last remaining webstores still offering music, clothing and exclusive material from the most talented artists in independent hip-hop. The concept of our store was conceived in 2000 when its founder, Sage Francis, exchanged emails with fans who were looking to purchase his music directly through him as they couldn't find it through any traditional means. He provided a list of available product and then requested that people send him cash in a concealed envelope. Surprisingly, despite the obvious risks involved, people were trusting enough to send their hard earned cash via snail-mail. In return, they were sent their purchase along with various 'random goodies' Uncle Sage had hanging around his Rhode Island home and office (a practice we keep to this day.) For obvious reasons, we no longer accept cash through the post. Thankfully, we are now able to accept payment via Paypal, credit card, and/or money order.

In 2004, the Strange Famous Records staff and roster grew, resulting in the webstore holding more material from artists who are on the label as well as material from our non-SFR contemporaries. It would probably be more profitable for us to carry popular music (i.e. whatever's trendy and hot right now,) but that's not the impetus to our being. We will continue to uphold our standard for art and business until there's no demand for it, at which point we will gladly bow out of the game. That said, we’ve delivered tens of thousands of packages to our fans since our meager beginnings in 2000 and we expect those numbers to climb for years to come.

With mom-and-pop music stores closing shop at a drastic rate, it has become increasingly more difficult for fans to obtain physical product from musicians in general, let alone underground artists. We're grateful to have built a direct link with the fans, so as long as you continue to support us then we will continue to manufacture the goods. Your help in spreading the word is always appreciated so please feel free to send your friends in our direction or follow us on and

Well, as you'll notice, the post you just responded to was posted in 2010. Turns out a lot of people who want to join the forum never actually ready it. Glad you did.

Also, it's incredibly weird that this is the only post you've made after registering your name. As if the only reason you went through the process of having your username activated was to comment on a thread that is about how to register a username...which you supposedly think was in response to you even though that's impossible.

Susan27...YAW SUSPECT!
