I don't quite get how good a colorist you are. Your coloring and sense of texture is doctorate while your drawerings still kinda linger around promising, smarter high school. You have so much style if you could just crank out anatomy and perspective in a year ..that'd be gooood.

Well ive been coloring about three times as long as ive been drawing. So that's where that's from. And yeah perspective and anatomy are where my game needs to rise to get my style where I want it. I'm devouring g schiele right now and his anatomy is so on point despite the twists and contortions. After I'm done with this project I'm going to take a month off and get back to basics so I can get where I want. Just refocus again. I know since I started late I have to work twice as hard.

I was at the Tate Modern in London Friday and it was absolutely phenomenal. It's right along the Thames, for one thing, so it's scenic and centrally located, and it's totally free (save featured exhibitions) for another. This seems to be the case with just about every museum in the UK, in fact. I saw some really fantastic stuff there that was mindblowing and ranged from more traditionally accepted art to just bizarre shit that --frankly speaking-- was artless. Basically, my criteria for whether something is art or not is if it makes me stop and consider it in earnest. If I just look and think "The fuck is THIS?" I tend to write it off as some asshole with a nailgun and access to building materials on a weekend bender of paint-huffing and tempeh-snorting. Don't get my wrong though, the Tate was primarily filled with incredible works of art. I saw my first Jackson Pollack piece, and several of Mondrian's famous cube paintings. They also had a large number of Mark Rothko's that I really enjoyed. There was also this really cool (I thought) neon sign sculpture that I took a photo and video of. I'm way too tired to transfer that stuff from my phone to my laptop right now, but I'll edit the post tomorrow with the goods. Great times!
