ENDCIV really great documentary  Reply with quote

jared paul put me up on these dudes and i've become quite a fan. not sure if you guys ever watch submedia.tv .... but they articulate a worldview that is very similar to my own... they put together a compelling argument....

And to be clear, a lot of it is pretty radical stuff. There's a lot I agree with; but there's definitely some stuff that I don't.

Definitely worth checking out, though.

Yeah.. the last 4 or 5 minutes that summed it all up with it's "Any American politician, secretly fascist Democrat or secretly fascist Republican, are just like corporate Mussolini stooges and should be assassinated" assertion kinda put a sour note on the doc..

We could do without the cross-hairs.. I still have Hope for Obama and Al Franken.

Jensen? His books are OK. He's a good writer. Some of his ideas are very good, some of them (conversations with rocks and shit) are unbelievable to me.

He has some really, really good bits though. The best one has to do with how liberal activists would confront Emperor Palpatine.

Yeah. I def don't have any hope for the Democratic Party or the Two Party System at all, in any way.

Frank Lopez does a great job of pointing out the inherent/catastrophic/irresolvable realities of Capitalism and of reporting on resistance and people's movements in a positive light.

And he gets me laughing almost every time.

The reason I don't promote Sub Media more is because people are very impressionable; myself included. I definitely believe in the class war, and the implementation of aggressive / creative tactics to fight it, but I think its best if people have access to as much info as possible, know the options, the consequences, where he's coming from, and have a realized sense of what they agree with and what they don't in terms of radical philosophy and tactics, before watching.

I wouldn't want some 15 year old PFA supporter to experience Sub Media before Democracy Now, etc.

I liked the star wars bit. Things got pretty wild from there though.

Yeah. There was a time when I was very, very active in this scene. Those books were very anticipated, especially part II, where we were going to get to the actual "how to bring this bitch down" part, but when it came it was a fun read but short on specifics, of course.

Ha! That Star Wars analogy was pretty spot on. Only difference is that in stars wars everyone knows the empire is the bad guy, whereas us, well, we still have hope that the empire could do a lot of good in the world if we could just get the right Lord Vader in office.
