What's with the Affleck hate? He's a good actor and looks the part. Reading the internet today feels like it's 2005 and his last movies are Jersey Girl, Surviving Christmas, Paycheck, Gigli and Daredevil.

I agree. While I'm not exceptionally excited about Affleck as Batman, he has shown some diversified acting chops with State of Play, The Town, and Argo. What I'm more concerned about the fact that Affleck has played Daredevil, and that movie sucked.

Daredevil being bad had nothing to do with Affleck. The director's cut is a prove that they had a decent movie but got butchered in the editing suite.

Well, I just know remembered that Affleck also played Superman in Hollywoodland. I don't know if any other actor has ever portrayed three different superheroes. This is some ultra rare shit we should all cherish. He'll probably be Professor Xavier in X-Men 25.

Pee Wee Herman would have made a good Riddler!

Last weekend I attended Fright Fest 2013. Being a huge horror fan it was heaven. Here are my top 3 picks.

Cheap Thrills

Big Bad Wolves
Israeli thriller/horror with a hint of dark comedy. Amazing!

V/H/S 2
Don't watch the trailer just go see. It made me laugh, jump and almost scream well not quite scream. If you have not seen the first it does not matter. Four found footage short stories by four different directors. The third story 'Safe Haven' which was made by Gareth Evans (the man behind The Raid) stands out. My jaw hit the floor with this one. A documentary team is invited into a famous Indonesian cult compound where an interview with the "father" has a horrific conclusion.

Its ok. Worth a watch. Some of the tapes are better than the others. Im not a huge fan of found footage horror. Especially a full length movies worth but I think the VHS movies do it well and its not the same story.

I was kind of losing faith with the horror world. Besides James Wan it seemed like nobody was making an effort anymore. By going to fright fest my faith has been restored! Dont get me wrong, i saw alot of trash. But the horror world is starting to blossom once again with the above 3 gems.

I have heard The Conjuring is bananas, and really want to check it out soon. But ya, Wan is pretty much carrying the genre on his back, and even he can't get all the films right. Any word on Insidious 2? I thought the first one was kind of great until the last 15 minutes or so, when it descended into cheesy and obvious.
