Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, & Jay Electronica song Control  Reply with quote

Sage is right - this track and the fallout needs its own thread.

If you have not heard already, Kendrick Lamar set NY on fire with his verse from this track -

Love live battles in Hip hop. I LOVE this.

Big Sean was asked about this, and I respect him for not changing his verse.

I just caught the tail end of the fallout and didn't know what anyone was talking about. Hunted down the track yesterday and gave it a listen. My admiration only gets greater for Kendrick with everything I see or hear from this dude. He's exactly what we've been begging for in "mainstream" hiphop. He's so head and shoulders above anyone in the game. These jelly rappers is cute. Jay-----Z bought the world. Ye stole it when no one was looking. Kendrick is taking it and making them watch.

This is ASTRO's diss track to Kendrick Lamar after he dropped the "Control" verse. It's okay....but ASTRO is gonna be sick. Hes only 14 years old.

Check out this video on YouTube:

Jesus I hate myself for clicking that. Please keep the garbage outta here. A king just got crowned and he actually fucking deserves it. Hiphop isn't as great as everyone has been saying but Kendrick is. BELIEVE THE HYPE

I don't quite get why this is such a big deal - it's not like he's dissing anyone, in fact he says he loves everyone who he mentioned. He's just showing he's competitive.

I love Kendrick, the guy is head and shoulders above everyone else in the game at the moment. I love that he has this competitive streak which hopefully means he will continue to put out intricate and well thought out verses for years to come.

Hopefully this inspires others to step up their game a bit, although all the responses so far would not suggest this is the case.

Lol, I don't know much about any rappers music listed and I'm absolutely content w that.

I liked his intentions but its simply not my crowd.
This just might be the exact beef moment where I realize I'm too old for this shit.

I'd like to imagine Deltron 3030 drop in and enialate it all from outer space.

But from that first single they put out, I'm scared it might not happen

It's a good verse...

10, 20 years from now, I'll probably be able to rattle it off like Capadonna's Winter Warz verse..
