That is crazy. I remember thinking at the time at how great it was and wish I had thought of it. My memory of the specifics are hazy but I think about the event often. Sort of like, "Instead of a birthday/Christmas card, how about I send you a box of shit? Will that work?"

I was never interested in the fake account flame wars and generally skipped Trav and steppin posts.

I met some rad people that I've stayed in touch with on here. I had dinner with Icarus a few times, met up with Jared Paul and the other touring dudes more than once.

Lots of smart and funny stuff on here.

Lots of disturbing misogyny as well. The thread about crash's friend possibly raping someone was tough to get through.

MP3D's posts walked the line between the two.

I remember that one thread where Shane was telling everyone to "just rub their dicks". Specifically, not to jerk it, just to rub it.

The NBA threads. Always liked those. Was surprising to me at first that there were so many pro-basketball heads up in here. I'm one of those people who can talk NBA endlessly so it was cool to see the same in others. Which reminds me of that basketball trajectory game thread because I spent hours trying to get the high score. I'm about to dig that up haha.

Trav was Trav but it was fun fucking with him. I remember I tried to fight Eltron once. And the mean. I think that was it. Man, I was an internet mess.

Too many great posts and exchanges to name. I've also met some great people through this forum and even got one of my best friends out of it.

The best thing about the Donnie Darko thread is that we are only another 5 years away from Icarus' essay on Donnie Darko.

Can I use this thread as a vehicle to finally ask what "steady takin Ls" means?

I never figured that one out and it was said a lot

I would assume "L" stands for loss.

So steady taking losses.

I was banned for transcribing some of Sage's lyrics, but I thought it was because I started a thread suggesting that we make up derogatory terms for vegans.

I started it off with "photosynthesissy," which should have won me the presidency of France.

I immediately come to think of the IM convos Sage used to post of people bugging him. One of them ended with the usual block/ban in this beautiful way that made me laugh hard:

SageKILLZ: any last words?
someone: don't do it

First of all, the reason I checked back on the forum today is that a girl I was on a first date with yesterday found out I liked Sage and asked if I wanted to make out to Personal Journals. We made out for the entirety of the album, then I walked her home. It was weird, because we kept mouthing the lyrics. Weird, hot and hilarious.

The first one that comes to mind is the Fuck Ron thread and song. If someone were able to dig that song up I would be forever grateful.

Trav used to call me quite a bit. Was his true identity ever discovered?

Yeah. He's a real guy. haha. He is Trav. There's a photo or two floating around. He came to a couple of our shows. Which reminds me...one of the funniest things that came from this forum is the photoshop battle with him slam dunking a basketball.

Last time we saw him was at Foxwoods Casino. He works in one of the restaurants.

Oh man, Trav. I still could never figure out how I felt about that dude, but he did occasionally keep things interesting. I didn't like his obsession with futurist though, I know she's a tough lady and can handle her own shit, but I felt like that went a little too far. I did enjoy some of his antics though, and it makes total sense that the dude works in a restaurant at a casino.
