It seems like the hottest rapper right now is Iggy Azalea.
She's had two songs trend towards Billboards #1 single..

She's got a nice flow and voice.

I wonder how much T.I. ghostwrote/ghost-flowed for her.
She seems rather polished for a new-comer.

And I wonder if she would be this successful if she was chubby... or non-white.

I like the Clueless throwback in this video..

Pop rap at it's finest.
I kinda wanna do a remix about being the opposite of fancy.. Dirty or Ugly.
It's a hot beat... and it needs to be shit upon by a dirty ugly rapper. :-P

you might like those dudes death grips. personally, i can't stand them but the rest of the internet seems to think they're the second coming.

other possibilities who aren't quite as out there:

ratking

flatbush zombies

I know of all of these, but these are the right kind of suggestions for what I was asking. I don't like death grips at all, either. I enjoyed a song or two from Ratking, though I haven't heard much beyond that, and I'm the same way with Flatbush Zombies and one of my friends has been really pushing them on me. I'll investigate those, thanks.

There is a person named Starlito and he comes from Nashville Tennessee and he was the most prolific semi-nobody in rap music last year and he released some of the most emotionally rich honest and clever rapping of the last five years in a wild frenzy of unheralded mixtape dropping and it is sad that none of you know him but also such lanes are not for some people so its cool.

Yeah Starlito is the dude for me right now. His stuff with Don Trip and Kevin Gates is all good. Pretty much every mixtape is I hear is good. He puts out so much shit that its hard for me to even make recommendations. Both Step Brothers records and then just download whatever is getting the most listens on mixtape sites.

Lito!

What's up shambhala? How's life been man?

sup tommi! groovy for the most part. was working in West Africa for the last couple of years, now back in the world of functioning electricity, throwing resumes across the universe, doing some freelance writing and generally figuring out what the fuck to do with lyfe... Nice to see so many familiar 'faces' still lurking around this grey and white universe that gobbled so much of my time in years past. Big ups to Sage and SFR for keeping the board running and alive for all this time...how u?

Chart-wise.
Right now she's got the #2, #5 and #29 song in America.

That fancy song is fucking awful, goddamn.

I'd rather listen to Rebecca Black I think.

I like that song for what it is, and the cribbing of Clueless works really well for the video. Weird to learn she's Australian.

If I'm going to listen to an Australian girl rap, though, I'd rather it was Macromantics.

speaking of Australian rap I'm enjoying the new Hilltop Hoods album "Walking Under Stars". I've liked them for awhile but haven't liked the last few albums as much

Lito is great, saw him walk out on stage with Kevin Gates. Only did the opening track and then just stood there with his double cup the rest of the night. Gates crushed though, dude is fantastic live, such a fun rap show. But yeah Starlito's cold turkey and the step brothers joints are cool. He's way better than dudes like young dolph and such.
